Training Description:
Group play therapy can be an effective way for school-based play therapists to provide services for a high caseload, as well as serving students with similar presenting issues. This session will focus on non-directive and directive play therapy interventions to address a variety of issues in elementary-age students including building empathy, resilience, social skills and confidence. Special attention will be spent on important cultural considerations when implementing group play therapy with minority students including addressing family hesitations and adjusting for bilingual sessions.

- Identify ways to gain parent buy-in for group play therapy.
