Session Description:
Many play therapists enter into the speciality with a lot of questions. This workshop is here to answer all of them! Participants will explore the foundations of play therapy and its application across the lifespan. Recommended toys and materials for the playroom will also be discussed, along with some important cultural considerations. Additionally, time will be spent discussing the play therapy certification process and the use of play therapy in a variety of clinical settings.

- List the qualities of a culturally competent play therapist
- Analyze the therapeutic powers of play
- Describe key play therapy terms
- Identify play therapy interventions to use with children across the lifespan
- Assess different ways to implement mobile play therapy
- Explain teleplay techniques to implement in a virtual setting
