Training Description:

Time for play is diminishing from the elementary school schedule, but the therapeutic power of play is undeniable. Applying a few basic, evidence-based Child-Centered Play Therapy techniques in short bursts of child-directed play time can transform the connection between a child and the significant adults in their lives. School based play-therapists will learn how to empower teachers and families to use a few key techniques from child-directed play time and in the midst of everyday interactions in any setting.

Learning Objectives 

  1. Describe the basic non-directive play therapy attitudes and skills to be implemented
    during Play Breaks.
  2. Demonstrate effective Child-Centered Play Therapy attitudes and skills to increase
    confidence in teachers. 
  3. Identify ways Play Breaks can be implemented in various school settings.
