Session Description: 

Many play therapists find themselves resonating with several play therapy theories and approaches. The use of prescriptive play therapy can be valuable as it allows the ability to tailor play treatment modalities to the needs of their clients. This training will focus on the principles of Prescriptive Play Therapy with clients across the lifespan, with a special focus on the importance of the intersections of cultural and social diversity as a necessary component in play therapy treatment. Participants will also explore specific play assessments to aid in treatment planning while aiding in the therapeutic powers of play. Additionally, participants will explore the use of Animal Attribution Storytelling Technique (AAST) in individual and family play therapy sessions.
