Training Description: 

Nondirective play therapy skills are key skills for play therapists when working with children across the lifespan. This webinar will focus on the foundation of child-centered play with children and adolescents. Time will be spent exploring various play themes and their signal of distress in the playroom. Participants will engage in role play to practice tracking skills when engaging in nondirective play therapy sessions with individuals, families and groups. 

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Analyze the objectives of child-centered play therapy
  2. Discuss the basic principles of nondirective play therapy
  3. Describe ways to engage parents in filial play therapy 
  4. Identify the use of play themes to assess progress in child-centered play therapy
  5. Use role play to practice child-centered play therapy skills
  6. Explain therapeutic limit setting in the playroom
