Session description: Artmaking in the playroom, like any other expressive therapies, should be mindful and respectful of all cultures. This webinar will encourage participants to explore a variety of considerations when utilizing art materials and artmaking in play therapy to become more culturally sensitive play therapists. Participants will utilize art materials and creative expression to learn more about how their own cultures can impact their work with their clients of all backgrounds in the playroom. Additionally, this experiential webinar will provide opportunities to discuss hands-on art making techniques and materials to integrate into play therapy that take culture into consideration when engaging clients from diverse backgrounds.

- Use art-based interventions to explore personal cultural impacts that may appear in the playroom
- Discuss art making techniques to promote cultural recognition and pride in play therapy
- Identify ways cultural appropriation can appear in art making in play therapy sessions
