Session Description:

This webinar invites clinicians to deepen their understanding of how culture shapes the play and emotional world of Latino students. This interactive webinar highlights the importance of family, identity, and cultural strengths in school-based play therapy. Participants will leave with practical strategies to create culturally affirming play spaces in schools, build meaningful connections with families, and support children of all ages in expressing their experiences through play. 

Learning objectives: 

  1.  Identify key Latino cultural values that influence children’s expression and engagement in play therapy. 
  2.  Apply culturally responsive strategies to interpret themes and behaviors observed in play therapy with Latino children. 
  3.  Analyze culturally relevant tools and family engagement approaches into their play therapy practice to better support Latino youth and their families.
