Description:

Child welfare involved youth experience layers of grief when they are separated from their family systems. Play therapy can serve as an effective tool to enhance attachments and activate healing in children of all ages. This workshop will cover the core needs of adoption and ways you can meet them through thoughtful play-based assessment, case conceptualization and treatment. Attendees will analyze the therapeutic powers of play that can help child welfare involved youth address issues of grief and attachment. The workshop will cover essential play therapy seminal theories to employ when working with child welfare involved children including Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and Theraplay.
